San Clemente (Calif.) offensive lineman
Kyle Murphy took an unofficial visit to USC on Thursday and said he's very close to narrowing his list to a final six.Murphy is one of the nation's top tackle prospects and earned OL MVP honors at The Opening a few weeks back. He has taken several unofficial visits this past spring/summer and made the short trek to Los Angeles to check out the Trojans."It was great, I really enjoyed myself there," Murphy said. "I went with one of my coaches and a few of my teammates but I still got to spend some good one-on-one time with a lot of the SC coaches. They pulled me aside at different times to talk about the program and how I would fit in, things like that."We were able to sit in on the position meetings, tour the weight room and spend some time with the coaches in their offices. I talked a lot with Coach O [Ed Orgeron] and Coach [Lane] Kiffin and they were all great to me and my teammates so it was a really good time."Murphy said this is the last unofficial visit he plans to take and he's close to naming his final six schools."Right now, I feel real good about USC, Cal, Stanford and Oregon," Murphy said. "So I have two spots open and I'm still trying to sort that out. I plan to take all five of my official visits so I'm not close to making my decision right now. I just want to narrow my list down to make it easier on me and then I'll figure out my visits in the fall when the season rolls around here."
