Arizona picked up a commitment from one of the top defensive tackle prospects out west as Dwight Melvin (Laveen, Ariz./Fairfax) decided to stay in-state and play for the Wildcats.Melvin had his coming out party at the Stanford Nike camp when he took home DL MVP honors and landed his first scholarship offer from UCLA that same weekend. Arizona and Arizona State followed suit, but the Wildcats were always the team to beat."That's my childhood favorite, I've always liked UA," Melvin said. "I visited Arizona several times and just love it there. I love the game atmosphere at the games, I like the direction the program is going in and I'm close with the players and coaches."The location is perfect for me, it's close to home to visit easily but still far enough away for me to feel like I'm actually living away from home. I still plan to take my official visits and will for sure check out UCLA. They were the runner up for me and I like ASU too but Arizona had too many pluses and I'm very excited to be a Cat."
