Brett Bafaro (Hillsboro, Ore./Liberty) is a name that has flown somewhat under the recruiting radar but colleges are well aware of the talented linebacker. Bafaro first caught our attention at the Nike SPARQ Combine in Portland two years ago. The linebacker clocked a 4.66 40, jumped 33 inches in the vertical and threw the power ball 38 feet. His 96.18 SPARQ Rating was one of the best for any underclass linebacker in the country. He then went out and had a very good junior season earning all-league honors at both linebacker and running back and is sitting on six scholarship offers at the moment."I have offers from Oregon, Boise State, Idaho, Portland State, Utah and Colorado," Bafaro said. "I camped with Oregon, Boise State and Oregon Stat,e and I'm also hearing a lot from Cal and Washington right now."I'm leaning to Oregon right now but I'm not ready to make a commitment to anyone just yet. Oregon is the local school and they're having a lot of success so it's kind of hard not to give them a hard look. I just want to wait things out a little more and see if any other schools offer. I would love to get an offer from Washington and Cal and they're both talking to me so we'll see what happens.'Oregon State leads for Cali OLSleeper offensive line prospect Chase Eldredge (Palos Verdes, Calif.) has had a strong spring and recently picked up his first scholarship offer.Eldredge is an intriguing prospect with some definite tools to work with. He has a great frame, is very strong and is an above average athlete. He attended Nike Camps at Stanford and Washington and was especially impressive in Seattle, despite working out at Oregon State's camp the day before."My legs were so sore from the Oregon State camp," Eldredge said. "I still had a lot of fun at the Nike Camp and learned a lot from the coaches. We got a lot of reps since there weren't too many linemen there so it was a good experience."The Oregon State camp was great too and they actually offered me a scholarship last Thursday. The coaches at Oregon State are great guys and I liked them a lot. I'm also hearing from San Diego State, UCLA and Arizona State right now, but Oregon State is definitely recruiting me the hardest."Eldredge has camped with UCLA and plans to take another visit to Oregon State in the near future."My last visit to Oregon State was just for their camp and I didn't get to see any of the campus," Eldredge said. "I wasn't able to see the actual school so I'm going to go up there in the next couple of weeks and check things out. If things go well, I think there's a good chance I could commit. "I would love to play for Coach [Mike] Riley and his staff, but there are a few other schools I like, too. I kind of want to see if they have any interest in me before I make my decision. All my coaches would like me to commit before the season but I'm not 100-percent sure I'm ready for that yet."
