Oregon State picked up a commitment from one of the nation's premier two-way lineman as
Isaac Seumalo (Corvallis. Ore./Corvallis), who's No. 65 in the ESPNU 150 and the nation's No. 2 offensive guard, announced for the Beavers."I'm a Beaver," Seumalo, 6-foot-3 and 280 pounds, said. "At first I planned to do some visits and drag this out a little but the more I thought about it, the more I realized Oregon State was the best spot for me and I didn't want to waste anyone's time."I took a lot of visits and saw some great schools. Stanford, Cal and UCLA were all high on my list but Oregon State offers me everything I could possibly want, plus it's close to home, the coaches are like family to me and I'm very familiar and comfortable with all aspects of the program since I've been around it so much."Seumalo was the OL MVP at the Nike camp at Stanford and then picked up the DL MVP at the Nike camp in Oregon. He'll likely start out on the offensive side of the ball at OSU, even though his father Joe is the DL coach for the Beavers."It's probably better this way, now I won't have my dad yelling me every day in practice," Seumalo said. "I like both positions equally so I never had a preference. I'll play whatever gets me on the field the quickest and if that's offensive line, specifically guard is where they like me, I'm all for it."It's a good feeling right now to have this behind me. I was never stressed but it does feel good to go in to my senior year and already have my school picked out. Now I can focus on other things like my senior year and our football season so I'm excited and relieved."Seumalo will participate in Nike's The Opening next week as well as the Under Armour All-America Game later in the year.
