Harvey Langi (South Jordan, Utah/Bingham) took his final official visit to USC this past weekend. The talented running back had earlier visited UCLA and Utah and although he said five schools are still involved, this one looks more like a two-team race.Langi is one of the most versatile players in the region and arguably the top power back in the West, but has the ability to play linebacker of even safety at the next level. "It was an unbelievable trip, I had a real good time," Langi told WeAreSC.com. "I talked to the running backs coach, coach [Kennedy] Pola the most. I was hosted by all the players that were still on campus. I was the only recruit there this weekend so I got to hang out with all of them. I am not taking any more visits. Now I am going to kick back with my family for the holidays and then make my announcement at the Army All-American Game."Langi said there are still five schools under consideration."My top five that I'm choosing from are Washington, USC, Stanford, Utah and UCLA," Langi said. "Everything is going to play a part in making my decision: education, depth chart, comfort level and coaches. All of those things are important in making my decision."Stanford stopped recruiting Langi weeks ago, and word is the visit to UCLA was just OK for him. He never took an official visit to Washington and although he visited unofficially last spring, it's tough to imagine Langi committing to a school he never officially visited. That leaves the Trojans and Utes in a tight battle. Utah has been the odds on favorite for most of the year and it would be an upset if he went anywhere else. Saying that, the Trojans did a very good job selling Langi on the program and their business program, which is what he wants to major in. Niklas set for busy JanuaryServite (Anaheim, Calif.) athlete Troy Niklas is looking at three schools and is being recruited at three different positions by his finalists. After missing over half of his junior season due to various injuries, including multiple concussions, Niklas bounced back to have a very good senior year. He moved from tight end to guard on offense this year and was one of the most dominant defensive ends in the state as well. The athlete has had a final three of Stanford, Notre Dame and USC for most of the year and will visit all three in January."I'm going to Stanford (Jan. 14), USC (Jan. 21) and Notre Dame (Jan. 28)," Niklas said. "Stanford likes me for tight end, Notre Dame likes me on defense and USC likes me on the offensive line. I've said this multiple times and I really mean it, I really don't have a preference for where I play. I'll play any position to help the team and that won't play a role in what school I pick."Right now, I don't have a leader among the three schools. I like them a lot and just plan to take my visits with an open mind. After my last visit, I'll take a few days to think everything over and then make my choice pretty close to signing day."
