Devon Blackmon (Fontana, Calif./Summit) is one of the most explosive players out West and although he has yet to take any of his official visits, he said he's close to making his college choice.Blackmon plays quarterback at Summit, but is being recruited strictly as a receiver. He participated in the Champion GridIron Kings event in Orlando last summer and was one of the top players in attendance. He's not a pure pass-catcher yet but showed off his tremendous speed and is a true home run threat from anywhere on the field."I'm pretty close to making my decision, the recruiting process is getting tired for me," Blackmon said. "I still have the same six schools on my list, Cal, USC, Oregon, UCLA, Florida and Alabama. My favorite schools change all the time but it will definitely be one of those six."Blackmon has been rumored to be a big Bruin lean for months and even helped to recruit quarterback
Brett Hundley (Chandler, Ariz./Chandler) to UCLA back in September."Nah, I'm open," the always coy Blackmon said. "No one knows where I'm leaning right now. It could be any of those schools on my list. Everyone will just have to wait and see. Hopefully I can do it on TV and we're working out the details on that right now."Of the schools on Blackmon's list, the only ones he has visited are USC and UCLA. It's tough to envision him committing to a school he has never checked out in person although there's a good chance Blackmon will take a few more visits after he commits. Wherever he commits, expect this one to not be completely over until signing day.
