The U-15 AAU national tournament, which was held in Little Rock, Ark., was held in several different high schools and small colleges in the Little Rock area. The event had some top-notch talent and teams with squads from practically every state, amongst the 48 clubs in attendence. The event was won by the mighty Texas Titans, which was led by the current No. 1 propsect in the 2013 class, PF
Julius Randle (Dallas/Prestonwood Christian). The Titans defeated Team IZOD out of New Jersey in the final, 59-51. Here is a look at some of the top players I saw over the course of the weekend.
Julius Randle: The 6-foot-8 power forward is a big, strong and dominant post player.
Matt Jones (Dallas/ DeSoto): He is a prototypical shooting guard that reminds you of Ray Allen.
Spencer Weisz (West Orange, N.J./ Seton Hall Prep): The big-bodied wing is an excellent shooter when his feet are set and he has nice moxie.
Joshua Brown (Jersey City, N.J./ St. Anthony): The lefty is a supreme slasher that gets to the basket and scores.
Stephen Clark (Oklahoma, City, Okla./ Douglas): He is an excellent shooter with deep reange. I watched him hit six 3s in a game.
Juwan Parker (Tulsa, Okla./ Washington): The skilled wing has great tools and upside, but he needs to be more productive.
Nolan Berry (St. Louis, Mo./ Desmet): He is the grandson of the legend Easy Ed McCauley.
Jordan Martin (Hazelwood, Mo./ Central): He is an active, athletic post player that plays hard.
Devin Williams (Cincinnati, Ohio/ Withrow): The athletic, strong and skilled post player has solid ball skills for his size.
Monty Boykins (West Chester, Ohio/ Lakota West): The skilled wing can shoot and score. He kind of reminds me of
Austin Rivers with his look and game.
Marc Loving (Toledo, Ohio/ St. John): The skilled combo forward has great size and length. He disappears at times, but his talent is unmistakeable.
Nigel Hayes (Toledo, Ohio/ Whitmer): He is a skilled forward with solid versatility. Hayes can score inside or out to 15 feet and is a good rebounder.
