Despite being a bit of a trek on the always-clustered Los Angeles freeways, it's always worth it when you get a chance to watch the Fairfax Tournament. Although Harvey Kitani's Fairfax squad is still in a rebuilding mode, after losing Renardo Sidney and Solomon Hill in 2009, the rest of the field was outstanding.

Standout players

Damiene Cain (North Hollywood, Calif./ Harvard-Westlake)
2011, PF, 6-6, 215 pounds
He got the best of Kevin Johnson (Woodland Hills, Calif./ Taft) in their respective matchup. Cain's post game is polished and he can stick the 3-point shot. He's a prototypical WCC face-up 4-man, but he may go higher.Spencer Dinwiddie (Woodland Hills, Calif./ Taft)
2011, PG, 6-3, 160 pounds
His strength will come around, while his saviness and length are ideal for the point guard spot. However, it would be nice to see him become a more assertive scorer in the mid-range area when the opportunity presents itself.Alex Carmon (Long Beach, Calif./ Polytechnic)
