It was almost four years ago that Nate Lubick (Southborough, Mass./St. Mark's) received his first scholarship offer. He was about to begin his freshman year of high school and had just been selected to the underclassmen all-star game during session three of the Eastern Invitational Camp when Colgate offered him a scholarship.Four years later and Nate is preparing for his freshman season at Georgetown, but Colgate hasn't given up on the Lubicks. It recently offered Nate's little brother Eli Lubick. The younger Lubick is a rising junior at St. Mark's School in Massachusetts where the brothers teamed up to play for their father, longtime St. Mark's coach Dave Lubick.Eli Lubick traveled to the Colgate Elite Camp last weekend and earned the offer at the conclusion of the camp from coach Emmett Davis.Dave Lubick said his younger son has been generating a pretty wide range of interest from the Patriot League schools, but that "it was no mistake we went to Colgate first."Eli Lubick may not have the same size or athleticism of his older brother, but he possesses the same family toughness and high skill level that project him to be a very efficient player at the next level. He is also the best football player in the family and there was some question as to what sport he would pursue at the next level. Once he made the decision to pursue his basketball dreams, Eli Lubick has been putting in the hard work to improve his game and expand his offensive attack after having already established himself as a knock down shooter from the perimeter."He's been working hard on his ballhandling," Dave Lubick said. "He put the ball on the floor well last weekend and went hard to the basket."Next up for Eli Lubick will be a trip to the American Elite Camp this weekend and although he is still relatively early in the process, don't be surprised to see the younger Lubick make a decision sooner rather than later.
