Class of 2012 combination guard Ryan Arcidiacono (Langhorne, Pa./ Neshamny) is a 6-foot-4 coach's dream. After hearing about him all spring, I finally got an opportunity to watch him play this past weekend at the Tournament of Champions and he didn't disappoint. Arcidiacono has a great feel for the game on the offensive end of the floor. His handle is tight and he makes passes that are on time and on target. His size allows him to see over smaller defenders when being double teamed or when he penetrates and dishes in the lane. He is also a big-time shooter with range past the arc off the catch or dribble. However, according to his travel team coach, Pennsylvania Playaz coach Gene Rice, his No. 1 asset as a player is his mental toughness. He competes on both ends of the floor and plays with passion and a great sense of urgency. The game I saw him play he attacked the basket on a regular basis, despite having eight stitches in his forehead he received the night before.Arcidiacono has definitely taken advantage of the spring portion of the travel circuit. "My phone has been ringing off the hook, since we returned from the TOC," said Rice. "Florida, Texas, Boston College, West Virginia, Villanova and Penn State just to mention a few."
