Shortly after his disastrous start in the World Baseball Classic for Mexico against Korea last March, Oliver Perez sat dejected in the press room waiting to be peppered with questions while the winning Koreans held their postgame press conference. When it was finally Perez's turn to speak, his disappointment was palpable. After all, it was his outing that put Mexico on the brink of elimination. They were out just two days later.
"Today's game was really tough for us because we understand the Koreans were really good," Perez told reporters after his start against Korea. "When they hit the ball, I was missing my location and I was behind in the count."
