Sprinkled around major league camps are several players who will be counted on by their teams to bounce back from lackluster seasons. Surely the Mets will need Oliver Perez to rebound for the team to be competitive in the NL East, while Detroit hopes Magglio Ordoņez can justify the $18 million they will pay him this season and Chicago is depending on Alfonso Soriano to become a middle-of-the-order offensive force.
But perhaps none may have a bigger impact on whether his team competes for a championship more than the Boston Red Sox's David Ortiz. On Tuesday, Ortiz met with the media for the first time this spring and reasoned that he's due for another big year.
