In 10 seasons in the major leagues, outfielder Karim Garcia hit .241 with a total of 66 home runs while playing for seven different teams. He was never elected an All-Star, yet his career wasn't unremarkable. Garcia was selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks with the ninth overall pick in the expansion draft in 1997. He was then traded to the Detroit Tigers in exchange for Luis Gonzalez, who would become one of Arizona's most successful and beloved players.
Of course, Garcia will always be remembered for being thrown at by Pedro Martinez during Game 3 of the 2003 ALCS, which resulted in a verbal altercation between the two players. The next year, in an interview with ESPN, Martinez quipped, "Who are you, Karim Garcia, to test Pedro Martinez?"
