• Greetings from Argentina

For four years now, I've found myself packing my bags full of winter gear for a two-month adventure in South America. I start to miss the summer, but the second I arrive in Bariloche, Argentina, I know exactly why I came back. Bariloche is my second home, SASS Global Travel is my second family, and Cerro Catedral has become nearly as familiar to me as Squaw Valley, my home mountain.

Three weeks of camp have gone by. We've been skiing nearly every day, all day. It's tough to describe this experience using only words and photos. There is so much more depth to SGT and Argentina than can be expressed in such a way. There are mountains that take your breath away and terrain that never ceases to deliver some of the best skiing that the Southern Hemisphere has to offer.

With all of the campers, skiing is our common ground, so it's easy for us to connect. This is what really sticks out in my mind when I think back on camp. Not to downplay the skiing at all -- I could go on and on about the skiing, too. Take the other day for example, after skiing untouched powder all morning, we hit a hip for hours in the rain until the mountain closed. I felt like I was 15 again and it was incredibly fun. SGT is more than just another summer camp, it's an experience, it's a family, and it's a place to grow as a skier and as a person.
