The past few years, up-and-coming park and urban skier Dale Talkington has turned heads with his edits from 4BI9, New Intelligent Group, and Meathead Films. Recently, it was Nike that took notice. Talkington and Andrew Napier recently won the Nike Ski Chosen video contest, where the winners received $10,000 cash, free gear, and an all expenses paid trip to join Nike's end-of-season ski team shoot at Keystone, Colo., where this recap, produced by Poor Boyz Productions, was filmed. We talked to Talkington, who's originally from Vermont but now lives in Salt Lake City, Utah, about his season.

How has your season been?
It has been good. I tried to film as much urban as possible with 4BI9. We were in Denver, Salt Lake, and Idaho for most of the season. Then I went to Spain for a comp, followed by the Carinthia Open at Mt. Snow, and finally the Dumont Cup. I also skied a lot at Park City.

Tell us about your winning Nike Chosen edit, and then getting the chance to film with the entire Nike 6.0 crew?
I was stoked on it. After the Dumont Cup, we finished up the edit for the final round, to make it a bit better. The week at Keystone was an amazing experience. Nike had such a great setup -- the condo, filmers, the features, everything was taken care of -- I've never had anything like that before.

Your edits on Newschoolers.com with Evan Williams from New Intelligent Group received a lot of hype. Can we expect to see more of that?
Yeah, definitely. I'm planning to make a few summer edits while I'm at Hood for a month and a half. So, I'll probably put something out then and a bit for next season, but next year I want to focus on filming full-time and competing.

You were skiing for Coreupt, which recently filed for bankruptcy. Are you looking for a new sponsor?
I'm planning on looking for a new ski sponsor, and I've been talking to a few people, but no news yet -- I'd be stoked for that though.

How was the jump and wallride at the Sammy Carlson Invitational this past weekend?
The jump was sick. It was about 90 feet and the wall was pretty ridiculous -- 40 feet tall or something crazy like that.
