In case you haven't noticed, goggles -- much like skis and outerwear -- are getting bigger. The trend of oversized goggles has grown the last few years, with most major eyewear companies introducing some sort of goggle with jumbo-size lenses.
At the SIA tradeshow last January, Oakley debuted the new Canopy, the company's first real oversized goggle. Due to hit shelves this fall, the Canopy fits people with medium to large faces and offers expanded peripheral vision.
Oakley athlete Tanner Hall will get his own Rasta-themed pro model, shown above.
The streamlined frame was designed to be compatible with all helmet models. Additional features include spherical lenses, massive vents on the top, bottom, and side of the frame, a moisture-wicking triple layer face foam, anti-fog coating, 100 percent UV protection and impact-resistance lenses.
And for those of you who wear prescription eyeglasses while skiing, we have good news for you: You are no longer forced to wear low-end, extremely dorky goggles over your glasses. You can now rock Oakley's Canopy, which has a hidden notch between the strap attachment point and the face foam to accommodate a pair of glasses. This feature will likely go unnoticed by people who don't wear glasses and be indispensable for those who do.
Cost for these goggles will be between $130 and $160.
