• Superstorm aftermath in N.Y.

While taking photos of the trails the day before the hurricane, all I could think about was that this might be the end of the trail season for this year. In preparation for the approaching storm, a lot of pits were fully tarped up and anchored down. Utilizing as many resources as we could to batten down the hatches (including pick axes and shovels), all the running jumps were ready for the hurricane.

After the Superstorm, Panamoka ultimately survived. The trails were a little broken and battered, but they survived. Tarps were ripped off and trees were down. A pine tree fell and crossed over four sections in our "valley," while another tree fell across a pit of one of the main lines, shutting it down. After the storm passed, we started fall cleanup on Halloween. With any luck, we might actually get a few more days of riding in before the winter hits.
