Miraculously, the rain held out at the Red Bull Empire of Dirt at Alexandra Palace in London, England this weekend, and Mongoose UK rider Ben Wallace walked away in first place, followed by Haro's Ryan Nyquist in second place, DK's Drew Bezanson in third place and S&M's Mike "Hucker" Clark in fourth place. TJ Ellis won the "Best Trick" award, with a backflip transfer between two lines.

"I'm so stoked to have won this event on home soil," said Wallace as he celebrated his win with fellow super finalists Ryan Nyquist, Drew Bezanson and Mike Clark. "This has been the best BMX event I've been a part of, mainly thanks to the atmosphere and the energy of the crowd. I'm pretty happy," he continued.

Wallace was also awarded "Rider of the weekend" for his efforts.

According to reports, the finals of the Red Bull Empire Of Dirt at 'Ally Pally' was attended by 10,000 spectators. The course, which took three weeks and an estimated 23,000 man hours to build, remained dry long enough for the 16 riders in the finals to get in all of their runs -- a rarity when considering how risky outdoor contests in the UK can be.

Check back later this week for a recap video of the finals.
