• Remembering Steve McNair

As Michael Jordan proved, it took a special athlete to earn the nickname "Air." Steve McNair may not have etched his name in record books the way Jordan did, but his will to win and his ability to play through seemingly any injury had SportsNation gushing on Saturday, just minutes after receiving word of his untimely passing at the age of 36.

Below are just a few of the thousands of comments received. Think back to some of your favorite McNair moments and join the conversation.

Steve McNair was a great player as a fan to watch. You never knew, on any given play, what to expect from Steve. When protection broke down, and he had to scramble, amazing things happened. He was Michael Vick before Michael Vick was. He was smart, strong, agile, graceful, and a fierce competitor. R.I.P., and thanks for the great memories. It truly was a pleasure to have watched you play.

On a day that we celebrate our freedom, due to the spirit and vision of our founders ... McNair passing means to me that America has just got a little less tough!

Being a Jaguar fan I always hated the Titans. I will never forget the 99 season when Steve McNair and the Titans beat the Jags 3 times that year, one was for the right to go to the Super Bowl. Steve McNair was a very well spoken player that worked hard and did whatever it took to win. I am deeply saddened by the death of Steve McNair and my prayers go out to his family.

As a Bills fan, I was always bitter of McNair and the Tennessee Titans only Super Bowl run, because of the "Music City Miracle." But, there is no doubt in my mind that Steve was a very classy football player, and his tragic death will be a shock to us all. Not only has the NFL lost a great person, but the entire world as well. He was a model citizen, whom always been a great role model. R.I.P. Steve McNair.
