Face Time video with Matt Beach

Matt Beach came up in skateboarding nearly 20 years ago. Beach, a phenomenal teenage skater in the early 1990s, shocked the skate industry establishment when he came out of nowhere to win the Back To The City contest in San Francisco in 1993. Beach went on to ride for Lance Mountain's brand, The Firm for the duration of that company's tenure. But when The Firm went belly up back in 2006, it seemed that Beach's pro career disappeared along with the brand. Beach never quit skating but he did take on the responsibilities of a nine-to-five for a few years. After hanging out with Brad Staba for a bit, Beach got the opportunity to have a pro model again on Skate Mental. Sponsorship from Nike SB and a video part in TransWorld SKATEboarding's "Right Foot Forward" soon followed. We checked in with Beach near his home in Portland Oregon to see what he's been up to lately.
