Driver to be evaluated after four races Reuters
BERLIN -- Kimi Raikkonen's Formula One
super-license gives him permission to enter only the first four
grands prix of the season, the boss of his Sauber team was
quoted as saying on Tuesday.
Peter Sauber told Motorsport Aktuell magazine that the
21-year-old Finn, who has competed in just 23 single-seater
races in his career, had been granted a super-license for the
races in Melbourne, Kuala Lumpur, Sao Paulo and Imola.
After that the International Automobile Federation (FIA)
would review the situation.
"I have accepted that," Sauber was quoted as saying in an
interview.
"I understand (FIA president Max) Mosley's arguments.
However we believe Kimi is up to it. We are convinced, based on
our experience up to now, that he will perform well."
Mosley is known to be doubtful about whether Raikkonen is
experienced enough to take his place on the grid when the season
starts on March 4 in Melbourne.
A Sauber spokeswoman was unable to comment on the report.
