Williams could reclaim Button Reuters | |||
SILVERSTONE, England -- Formula One team
owner Frank Williams paid a glowing tribute to his former driver
Jenson Button on Saturday and said he hoped he succeeded at
Benetton this season.
"We have a long-term interest in Jenson," he said when asked
to comment on a recent statement by Button that he would love to
beat his former employers.
"I would be delighted if Jenson won a race, he's a lovely
person."
Briton Button joined Williams last season when barely 20
years old and went on to become the youngest driver ever to
score points in the world championship.
He was replaced at Williams by Colombian Juan Pablo Montoya
and joined Benetton on loan for two years, with Williams then
able to recall him.
